Lost Friend

I'm "dedicating" this to my cat.

You lie there motionless
not knwing what's happening next
You feel a sharp pain
there's a stiffening in your chest

You try to move yourself
but something's holding you down
All you can help but do now
is lie there as the darkness surrounds

You hear people crying
it's your friends and family
They're the ones who once saved you
But now they're handing you the key

The key to those white gates
so high up in the sky
You thought you did nothing wrong
All you can do is ask "why?"

Why they make your life end
why they do this to you now
they say your best interests are at heart
All you can do is take a bow

But once again, you cannot move
and the darkness is closing in
You're going to miss them all
but you'll see them in the end
