A "Mother-Goosey" poem, for StoryTot, about sailing the WDC's endless depths |
| Written for "Invalid Item" , a contest honoring StoryTot -- StoryMaster's and StoryMistress's first child. Yippeee!!! Prompt: Write a nursery rhyme for Jack! Criteria: four stanzas of four lines each, ABAB scheme; Jack as the main character; poem must reference Writing.Com. Jack takes to float in a cardboard boat, daring the "Dubble Yoodie Sea," and whilst afloat he keeps careful note of all he sees on his spree: Robotic eels play with patchwork seals beneath a dozen dappled moons, and mermaids squeal great bubbles of teal that rise as hot air balloons. Tap dancing whales wear singing seashells. An octopus flys to Mars! A sequined snail leaves a gemstone trail atop waves that wink like stars . . . Drifting down streams of toys and ice cream, Jack's cardboard boat soaks in the ink of countless schemes and the dazzling dreams creating this endless drink. * I took creative liberty in mentioning Writing.Com : "Dubble Yoodie Sea" (WDC) |
