Think before you speak

There comes a time when spoken words
Don't seem quite enough,
You have to follow through on those words
Or the going will be tough.

Don't ever think the words you speak
Are falling on deaf ears,
The words you speak, if not sincere
Could cause a lot of tears.

Before you say I love you
Make sure it comes from the heart,
It can't be just idle words
Or you two will drift apart.

There are so many out there
Looking for true love to share,
They need to hear the truth
And know you truly care.

The next time you speak the words
You think they want to hear,
Make sure they come from your heart
And that they are sincere.
