The sin is merely a stain, a besmirching act that dims the soul with dirt. But the sinner is a shining vessel, a bright jewel, an eternal light. And while the vessel may be filled with filth, the jewel crusted, and the light fogged, Yet as the creeping worm may burst forth from its chrysalis to soar on soft wings of glory, So the vessel can be cleansed to pour sweet water again, the jewel can be polished to cast forth its clean ray, And fog can burn away to reveal the joyous sun of a new day. |
