Futility Is The Name Of The Game

This was written about a family member of mine.

Blinded by your feeble ways
I can no longer breathe
Inducing hysteria
Your endless affliction
Who knows what you need
Better than you?
Words seem trite
With nothing left to say
We'll look the other way
You make us recognize our own failings
I am embittered
I am utterly oblivious to your pain
No, I won't hear you in the next room
My ears have served as the entrywounds for too long now
I've gotten them cauterized
The original thought
A fresh start
It'll be what you need
To pull through
Try again
You gotta pick yourself up
Cause nobody else can
Tis the tedious lesson
Taught by the cruel system of life
It's better to learn
Sooner rather than later
But, then again, who am I to say anything?
We're in the same boat.
