A poem in Huitain form - for "The Box of Chocolates" Contest. |
| Spreading your warmth, Emanating, All of Earth drinking in each ray, Star, precious gem, Radiating, If only your season would stay. Laughing, splashing, children at play, Each year growing, under your glow, Sadly, too soon will come the day, They’ll glance at you through a window. Huitain is a form of poetry consisting of an 8 line stanza with 8 syllables, there are variations on rhyming scheme. For this poem, I used the scheme as designated by the rules of the contest - ababbcbc. |
