A lyrical love poem. |
| Song for Becky I've written love songs and ditties About girls who were pretties, But I must say I think you're the best. Forget about Jenny, Mary or Penny And Jeannie, and all of the rest. I've held girls in moonlight Some casually and some tight, And kissed those that I felt were true. But if I had the gall, I'd trade them all If, Becky, I could but kiss you. I could send you a flower Each and every hour, But I think that you will agree: Though heaven-made, flowers just fade, If only I could just send me. Wish I could hold you tight Hug you through the night, Feel you close for a thousand more years. If I was to woo you, I’m afraid I would lose you, And that's one of my greatest fears. I may never get to hold you But at least now I've told you, Because some things you just can't suppress. Even if you don't care, my love is still there Sweet Becky, I won't love you less. So a love song and a ditty For a girl who's so pretty, And I'm sorry that it's long overdue. Love can be tragic, but I hope this brings magic Because Becky, this one’s for you. |
