a poem of heartbreak in every sense of the word

Shattered

broken and helpless falls the heart
torn into pieces and thrown away
the rain pours down with vehemence
skies open and unleash their disdain
the air is drenched with a tangible loathing
comprehension is lost to the fog
sight is no longer needed
sound is drowned out in the crash
but the touch is only of pain
cut into the soul and rip apart
each piece falls through the tears
they fall forever and never land
there is no way out of the brume
the burn of the mist is intensified
screams of anguish bear through
no coherent thought is heard
if it could be it would be ignored
a million lies cut into the waste
a million truths with damning stares
it will never again be broken
because it can never again be repaired
it is no lost and to never be found
shattered and left to fall
