A poem about a boy at a much anticipated football match. |
Walking through the stadium My eyes are bright and keen To see the lights around me, The pitch, so lush and green The referee blows his whistle The game has just begun The crowd is warming up We’re about to have some fun! Now the ball is in the back of the net The fans jump up and down The home-side coach celebrates, While the visitors stamp and frown The atmosphere is great, And the crowd is in a trance As they watch the goal scorer Perform his victory dance As I watch this celebration Of this extraordinary man I think to myself how proud I am To be a football fan! |
