My first attempt at poetry..inspired by love

TERESA


That you are mine is the best truth
Every breath is my tribute to you
Rarely does my heart skip a beat
Except when my eyes meet yours
Safe is what I feel in my body
Always when you are there beside me

Time has been kind and cruel
Each day brings it sadness and joy
Reality can taint and spoil the shine
Even when love is so brightly lit
So I cling to your presence, safe as
Always when you are there beside me

The way we love, laughter that we share
Endlessly soothing our worries and woes
Rarely hurting our minds, our bodies
Entwining in a blissful place
So precious and sweet, this place is
Always when you are there beside me.
