The kitchen, having been bombarded with odorous explosions, gave supposedly safe harbor to those edible delicacies which, until Mom had done her work, did not exist and thus were not subject to the calculating mind of an eight year old girl who, knowing the loopholes in the system, successfully contrived to take one warm cookie.
