Abyss

inner torment

the pain drives
me to the abyss
that covers me in insane
I am drenched in disturbing
and torture drenched pain

insane is my middle name
and in the middle of agony
I have no one to turn to
and no one to blame

scraping fingernails
scratch at the inside of my head
and I catch glimpses
of the harrowing faces
of the living dead

please release me
please hear me my plea
I am crippled in pain
its eating away at what
little of me is left

if I were a horse
they would kindly
put me out of my misery
alas I am a suffering man
not a horse nor a messiah
with a get out clause

I am alive and dead
shuffling barefoot
inside my head
listening to my words
taunting at my continued
