wanting to escape

I wrote this a long time ago, times were difficult.

I sit here wondering whats wrong with me
am I so blind that I don't see
see the things that are in my path
I see them but I stop and laugh
foolish things they are indeed
I'm in a crowded room and no one can hear my plead
can I escape
do I even dare
why not
no one seems to care
