Derivatives of Hiding

Hiding
Blotting out the truth
Concealing what lies beneath layers of hues
Enshrouded by the very tempest that makes me weak
Obliterating hope in everything I seek
Obscured by shadows that loom
They keep me chained
Sealing my doom
Veiled
Hiding behind shadows
Masks
Smiles
I laugh
I grin
I wish for more than this
I wade out deeper
Water over my head
Still, I reach for my keeper
The depth of my heart already bled
Concealment of what truly lies inside
Keeping the darkness around me
It’s safer if I hide
Love cannot find me here
Hurt is my best friend
It is always standing near
By the hand I am led
The falsehood of lies
I hear them in my head
They must be true
I’ve listened to what
They have said
So, when does it
All end…when
How do I see
What is in
Front of
Me?

Shadows overcome
Darkness shrouds me here
I seem to have lost my way
For, I cannot see the light of day
