Lost Soul's on a Path of self destruction

Darkness a gloomy prison
within the depth of our lost souls,
what brought us to this self destruction
this bitter agony of suppressed emotion.

Time and education hold no answers
to the questions of our inner selves,
lost forever on a distant empty shore
never to return from drowning in the sea.

No understanding, no sympathy
from acquaintances within the realm,
when will this hopeless past disburse?
into the universe among the stars.

Why me? Why me? I’ve often asked
what hopeless cloud drenched my path?
will the rain forgive, forget
leave me drying, wrinkled, stiff.
