way of the politico

a simple observation

The worthy man
sat on the the train
with his papers and his rankings.
he began to rant on poll placings
and take away menus.

no one listened,
but quietly sifted through glossy issues
of "People".
he ran through his lists of promises
and proclamations, on the way to
the double-speak faire.

he made calls to the groomer and gardener,
barking and raking out commandments.
and nourished himself with bottled water
and Larabars, while reciting speeches of conservation.

Life is all just
"hello," "goodbye,"
take away menus and bottled water.

right and wrong, fair and balanced, lose your mind....
