Just thinking about the way life was while growing up |
| The days sitting on the porch drinking lemonade When people driving by waved, they were not afraid And drinking coffee with your neighbor across the fence Because back then, it seems not everyone was on the defense Meeting up with friends was an easier task Lives were slower, all you had to do was ask Children played games in the street You could hear their little feet slapping a beat Church members did not define you Rather you went because the Word made you feel true Now our days are a tangle of electronic devices And it seems most have one of these vices So we walk around with a plug in our ear It is a wonder no one can hear Long gone are the days of a slower pace But it is nice to go back and remember that place |
