First Hunt

A hunting story in 55 words. 2nd Place, Amazing 55 Word Contest

Stately twelve-point buck checks out the lush feed plot before stepping out. 

The camo-dressed hunter watches quietly with abated breath.

The magnificent buck steps out and lowers his head to eat the young wheat.

Raising the gun and drawing bead, the young hunter takes his shot.  The buck bolts, then staggers and falls.
