response poem to Candle Maker
|This moment finds me sitting here alone.
The hum of quiet settled in my space,
No noisy kids, or dogs, or ringing phones.
And in my solitude I see your face.
Though years have come and gone since first we met,
And much has been discarded on the way,
Our love is something I will not forget -
It lives in me and holds me up each day.
And so from deep inside I feel your smile.
I feel the steady strength, your loving hand.
Although our lives are sep'rate for awhile,
It's nothing that our souls cannot withstand.
Love, when you chance to look into my eyes,
You know that it's forever you surmise.
