This is how I met my husband.

Was it love at first sight
when I saw you standing there?
With your cute little smile,
Even with thinning hair.

Was it love at first sight
When you smiled across the room?
And bought me a drink
Which helped lift my gloom

Was it love at first sight
When a darts match you played?
You said I was the prize
he thought a joke you had made.

I accepted your drink
But refused as your prize
as we looked at each other
I saw in your eyes

Sincerity and kindness
Plus a mischievous glint
I realised I liked you
Would you take the hint?

The years have since flown
In fact there’ve been nine,
Since the day that I left there
With your hand in mine.

So was it love at first sight?
I’ll tell you it’s true
As it happened to me
