What is loneliness?
Standing on a bridge,
Mist surrounding,
Silence seeping from the cold stone frame.

What is loneliness?
Quiet as a mouse,
Waiting for a sound,
Proof of existence.

What is loneliness?
A blank stare,
Eyes open, mind shut,
Not but a whisper.

What is loneliness?
The fear of another,
Raging through each chamber of the mind,
Unable to speak.

Unconnected.

Desolate.

Blank.
