I've been hurting for a long time

Suppose it started in my prime

Never really knew who I was

Kind of rebel without a cause



Though hidden deep inside

Others saw what I denied

Started running on potent juice

Guess that's really no excuse



Tried to justify I cheated and I lied

Just to kill the pain inside

Inside I was dying

Yet allowed no crying



Thought I knew it all

Didn't see how close the fall-would be!

Guess the only one who never knew was me!



I was hurting it was plain to see

I was hurting oh the pain in me

Yet denied through unreality

I stayed hurting won't you set me free?



Years of self abuse.

That's the pathway I would choose.

I was hurting.

I' m still hurting.
