He floated into my life
Like a crisp orange leaf
On a fall afternoon wind
Warm from his flight
Close to the benevolent sun

His words
Were to my ears
As sweet
As a toddlers first candy cane at Christmas
Offering innocent sugar rushes

His eyes
Were warm and loving
Accepting my slight imperfections

He came to me
Like a summer breeze
His kindness
Replacing the chill of winter
With warmth only his spirit can share
