I am pain and you are truth:
fate forces a mirror between us
but we
are not fooled.
the reflection is as much a lie
as the truth the brain tells itself,
as the soul sits naked
and silent
trapped
inside neurons and gray matter -
tyranny of biology -
inside culture, inside morals -
tyranny of humanity -
my soul screams for itself inside
the cramped quarters of mostly dead
memory.
it's scream is answered
with laughter from the mirror
that floats up above
and has us all -
you and I -
fooled at once.
