You’ll never break my spirit
Go ahead and try.
Others have come before you
And each has failed.
Like a cold stone I stand,
Untouchable.
Unbreakable.
Grey on the inside and out.
Heavy hearted
And Heavy minded.
Eyelids droop as you continue
To batter me
With words you hope will hurt.
But you might as well give up
Like I have.
It makes life bearable to live.
It makes life work.
