A love poem about a special female. |
| A mild and rainy Halloween night, The ghosts of stormy days past No longer haunting us As in our tragic, lovelorn days of childhood. We lovingly embrace the future, The repentant, all-knowing serpent of fate Allowing us to meet two and a half years ago. A pair of youthful, middle-aged lovers Avoiding the trick-or-treaters, Shopping for food, then heading to the gym For a grueling, but relaxing, workout. Then we plan our next get-together And say our warm, cheerful goodbyes, Relishing a final hug and kiss Before the evening drive home. I compliment her again behind my steering wheel As I head out of the parking lot behind her: My sweet, you are the perfect woman… |
