part 1 of a series of poem verses in no set order; speaks of love in terms of vegetation. |
| love is a sunflower with such devotion unparalleled admiration for its lover, the sun that it never looks away following the light across the sky and bows its head only at night obsession love is a rose vibrant and colorful the classic romance enticingly charming but with thorns that cut deep and leaves for sharp teeth so lovely to look at but try to get near and touch you shall pay the price deceit love is a weed unwanted in a beautiful garden troublesome and annoying competitive and greedy for attention grows where its not supposed to pull it out it grows back again such persistence even at the face of rejection suffering love is bamboo you give it everything nurture it well yet nothing grows silent for such a long time even as you wait, patiently and then when you've given up hope it grows tall, strong and proud a moment too late pride |
