A poem about love, intimacy and fear. |
| Your clothes are on the floor And I can see you for the first time. No more disguises. I always knew you were beautiful, You just never believed me or yourself. I watch you naked in the light of the candle, Trembling softly as I open my arms. Silhouette of an angel in the dark room, Your shape moving closer As the candle flickers and dies. Just us now. Figures in the darkness. Skin finding skin in nothing. The candle’s gone So we’ll make our own light. Light to chase away the fear inside us both. |
