My final good-bye to a special someone

I know that I have lost your trust,
And now you have helped me to see,
How in a romance based on lust,
You could have never stayed with me.

But after all this I will not cry,
Nor will I show any remorse,
Because I know that I will not die,
And all will follow its given course.

As I move on and you look past,
If I have been taught this is what I know,
