Nothing New Under the Sun

Just a little something I wrote... Kind of on the long side :D

The day fades,
The night is long.
Hearts cry out in pain;
Nothing new.

What little light
Exists still here
Is gone forever,
Or so it seems.

The night is long,
The day grows short.
There seems no point.
Nothing's new.

As far as the eye
Can see is black.
Truth is hidden,
Dig it out.

Life goes on,
The darkness stays.
Where is truth?
Nowhere new.

The man may seek,
May search for ages;
He will not find
Until the end.

The light is weak,
The dark still strong.
Yet hope exists
Still nothing new.

We're finding truth,
The light is steady.
Night cannot last forever.
Nothing new,
Nothing new.

Faith restored,
Dawn comes at last.
Nothing new,
But hope again.

Day breaks strong,
The night is over.
Sore hearts now shout
With joy and wonder.

The truth is here,
Laid glist'ning and bright.
Nothing new,
But all is right.
