living nightmare

confused and broken

Living in a nightmare,
doomed to never wake.
Confused and alone,
feelings i cannot shake.
Fading like an ancient picture,
broken brushes,
broken frame,
damaged beyond repair.
Scars you left here and there,
memories of a broken heart.
The pain doesn't hurt as much
when its all you've ever known,
broken under pressure.
Living in your roaring fire
trying in vain to avoid your flames.
I promise to keep smiling
when inside i'm dying...
Sadness is vast
filling both present and past.
Living in a concious hell
grimly seeking my heaven,
crying in the rain
that way you cant see my pain.
The agony cant ever hurt as much
when its all that i've ever known,
and this all for you.
I inflict upon myself;
my numbed self
yet again...
you leave me
heart broken.
