I have risked the death of the sinner I was
Received the gift of His mercy in place of wrath
Setting my eyes on the future instead of the past
Indescribable redemption led me to His greater path

I dare a life as His precious child
To live is to behold the wonder of His design
To shed joy with His light in the darkness defiled
While my spirit grows in the wisdom of His word divine

I will risk the journey to His identity
Willingly face the perils along the way
As long as I ride the chariot of His charity
All my needs by the feet of His grace I will lay

And when, for Him, I have risked it all
earned what it means to trust and obey
And to surrender all of my wants to His call
He will carry me to glory where I will praise Him all of my days
