A poem about fear and the adrenaline that insues |
| The widening of your pupils suddenly absorbs everything in sight. The taste of iron and the smell of all the molecules in the air. The sound of blood and adrenaline tearing through your veins. An overall knowledge of all that surrounds you. All other emotions, anger, happiness, sadness, jealousy, regret…they rise to the surface of your conscious thought. However, as quickly as they appear, they are gone. All your muscles contract like a rubber band being shot. Everything is vivid You gasp for air You reach the surface The surge gives you the power to choose… Fight…or flight? |
