|For most of my working life, my feet have been firmly planted in the art world. I began by sharing my love of photography with under-achieving teenagers at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf thanks to a generous grant provided by the McNeil Foundation. After this, I worked my way up to become Director of Development & Planning for a local museum & a volunteer grant reader for two small foundations.
During recent years, I served as director of a Philadelphia Pa. arts service organization
including volunteer lawyers for the arts. 800 volunteer attorneys provide legal assistance to many individual artists and nonprofits each year. The job, ever-changing and the wonderful people involved kept me on my toes. When not working at my day job, I taught in the graduate fine arts program at Drexel University, while also working with organizations in trouble through LaSalle University's Nonprofit Management Development Center in Philadelphia.
In 2003, we moved from Philadelphia to Chester County, PA to revive and revamp a remarkable center for the visual arts. After, our work was done, I signed on with New York Writers Studio to learn to write poetry. I owe my inspiration to my mentor and instructor, Frazier Russell. In 2006 I discovered Writing.Com on the internet. This is a 5-star discovery & a glorious ongoing adventure !
Sadly, I lost my husband in 2015. I moved to Rutland, Vermont in 2016 with my wonderful daughter, Alex. Rutland is surrounded by mountains and acre after acre of beautiful unblemished land. This is a great place to live.
