How fortunate I've been !
|For most of my working life, my feet have been firmly planted in the art world. I began by sharing my love of photography with under-achieving teenagers at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, thanks to a generous grant provided by the Robert McNeil Foundation.
Following this job, I was hired by the Buten Museum in Merion, PA to work on a large government-funded project. This led to a wonderful job serving as Director of Development for the Museum.
From 1983 until 2003, I served as the director of a remarkable program developed to serve the area's arts community.. By 2003, our program included hundreds of volunteer attorneys who provide free legal assistance to 1,000 + individual artists and nonprofits each year. In addition to my day job, I taught in a graduate fine arts program at Drexel University, while also working with organizations in transition through LaSalle University's Nonprofit Management Development Center.
In 2003, my husband and I moved from Philadelphia to Chester County, PA to revive and revamp a remarkable center for the visual arts. After, our work was done, I signed on with New York Writers Studio to attempt to write my first poems. I am especially grateful to my instructor, Frazier Russell. In 2006 I discovered Writing.Com--a 5-star discovery & a glorious ongoing adventure !
Sadly, I lost my husband in 2015. I moved to Rutland, Vermont in 2016 to live near my daughter, Alexandra. Rutland is surrounded by mountains and acre after acre of beautiful unblemished land. It is also a hub for the fine arts, theater, and music. This is a wonderful place to live.
