Not That Easy

It's just not that easy...

Why do I fight
Why do I care
Why do I bother
When inside I'm so bare

I'm numb inside
I barely feel
Why is it just
So hard to heal

"You need to get over it"
Is what they tell me
It's just not that easy
Why can't they see?

They don't know me
Nor walk in my shoes
They don't get that
It's not just "the blues"

I hurt inside
I'm all twisted in knots
All the damned time
Not just in spots

I wish it were easy
To just snap a finger
And be all better
Not letting the pain linger

But it's not that easy
To wipe it all away
It's not simple magic
To just heal when I say
