The pressures and demands of life may become like the "searing heat" of the Sun.

Refuge From the Sun

Longing for relief from this burning Sun,
the searing heat and insatiable thirst
groping for relief, pursuing solace
into the night I wander,
taking refuge from the Sun.

In dreams I break free, planning the way
for an ultimate escape from this harsh heat
demands blazing down too intensely, so
into the night I wander,
taking refuge from the Sun.

A path of serenity beckons me
to a refreshing oasis of renewal
to sooth my eyes from the daylight is why
into the night I wander,
taking refuge from the Sun.

Focus will free me from its greedy singe
sucking me dry for its own selfish gains
to be discarded for another resource, so
into the night I wander,
taking refuge from the Sun.

To break away from the Sun’s steamy grip
no vague thoughts or baseless plans will do
these dreams are my reality to live, so again
into the night I wander,
taking refuge from the Sun.
