Dysfunctional

Conveying negative emotions which many unfortunately cannot reveal.

Follow the emotional victim on a journey unseen.                     
Cleverly disguised by a disassociated mind.
Unable to expose its torment so obscene.
Regularly misunderstood, often maligned.

Hardened on a path of pain unescorted.
Losses never grieved eating the heart.          
Damaged by abuses not recollected.                    
Enduring a life contaminated from the start.

Subconsciously rejecting pleasure's impulsive happiness.          
Feeling more alive through suffering’s persistence.
Addicted to misery’s self-pitying sadness.                    
Denying the self’s right of an autonomous existence!                    

Afflicted with a crippling lack of self-confidence.          
Trapped on self-denial’s undeniable route to resentment:
Stimulating unfriendliness to outright rage and violence!
Pining for an unattainable contentment.

Are these symptoms of abysmal emotional suffering?          
Or the poor excuses of a non conforming free spirit?
Is this a product of “free” society's dysfunctional relating?
Or a God’s wish of a hard earned merit?
