Painful life experiences leads to lonesome crying in the shower.

Lonesome Cry

Like a wolf caught in a trap, I bite off my heart to escape
the loathsome lies and disappointments of heartbreak
the desperate lives of a cut throat existence
the burden of proof of everyone’s insistence

Like a lizard's tail, will my heart grow back
to believe in justice and perceive the truth I lack?
Can I banish the lies and embrace the hope
reveal the purpose for which I desperately grope?

Haunted by the realities I have no power to change
crippled with emotions, now feeling deranged
I retreat to the shower where no one can hear
the deafening sounds of each falling tear

The outcome is unsure, this I cannot deny
and so it goes on, this wolf’s lonesome cry
