encounter feelings of calmness right before the storm

Calmness washes over me, a peaceful easy feeling
so why do I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop?
the quiteness is now deafening, screaming in my ears,
I'm hoping it's just my mind, but I can't make it stop.
