Why can’t I stay awake?
When I sit to read a book
No matter the effort I make
Oh what an effort it took

When I sit down to read
Try though I might
With all the light I should need
I’m out just like a light

How long have I been this way
How long has been my fight
Why it has been every day
From morn till darkest night

It hampered me in other ways
Through out my troubled life
I was tired all the days
Staying awake was my great strife

How do I survive?
Get by in any way
That is easy I just thrive
As narcolepsy has it way
