The Snake is a rhyming poem for children. |
| The Snake Right beside my favorite lake I spied a green and yellow snake. All curled up, real nice and neat He seemed to like the summer’s heat. My thoughts, I knew, he could not tell. The fear in me, he could not smell. I’d make a very fast retreat Before he slithered near my feet. I turned and ran back down the road And nearly stepped upon a toad. At last I reached my own front door The lake, I knew, I’d go no more. |
