Ode to those who've inspired me.
My life is often filled with random thoughts,
I sort out every time as I write my soul.
But as with all things, sometime droughts,
Stop my mind from its constant toll.
Then she guides me, through life and dream,
My mind’s fuel to guide my hand.
Memory of her, like a sunlight’s beam,
Creates a broad sea of thoughts from sand.
She has been many things to me, in this life,
a subtle strength as well as easing my pain.
She has parted clouds lessening strife,
Bringing new life after my hearts’ constant rain.
She started young, with soft blonde hair.
Eyes brown like a gentle deer.
There have been many since, with souls so rare,
And many more to come I fear.
The first one when I was young influenced me most,
I still remember the day she went away from me.
For it made me less of a man, a most proper ghost,
Then I set out searching for my true destiny.
Another one said words that drive my road,
My most valuable piece of lore.
I live my life by seven words…this code,
“Ryan, your soul needs to suffer more.”
The last one still loves me with all her heart,
Although I’ve broke it time and again.
But I lost her the day I had to part,
Suffering vastly in my mind since then.
We are influenced every day, by people we meet,
Day or night…all done to us, or unto others we do.
But I’ve learned through the rain, snow, cold or heat,
Your true muse always finds you.
