Pendulum



Alone in the kitchen
Bask in the fluorescent glow
Eyes burn
Head pounds
Words fail me over and over again
Flicker of the computer screen
System's screaming
Soothes me

Don’t get too comfy
‘Cus Life’ll just come along
It’ll kick you in the ass again
Each time you think
“Why now”
“Why me”
But look beyond the surface
See beyond your own pain
Every fall leads to a rise
And you will come out the other side
A phoenix rising from the ashes
