Saving Fargo

Fargo, North Dakota floods

They say Spring is here,
snow has begun to clear.
With rivers running so high,
levee's attempt to defy.

In Fargo they look with fear,
as dry grounds disappear.
They look up to the sky,
hoping rain doesn't come nigh.

More sandbags again appear,
another dike to engineer.
No one stops to question why
strangers fight to keep all dry.

From everywhere they volunteer
to join the fight this year.
Nature's water they defy,
"Save Fargo," is the cry!
