In the yard, a rolling rhythmic patter
Falling down upon the ground with vigor
A Halo sheen across the table top
Sweet flash of cheerful laughter from the past
With seated kin surrounding supper’s feast
Oh cherished moments lead my heart to beat
Then image fades and empty table sits

On puddles, dripping mid a vacant porch
Reflects the welling rain I cry inside
For lonesome pain of feeling left behind
Fenced by the distance between those I love
And teased with a single fleeting visit
Behind a wall unable to follow,
Drenched with tears like wet, reclusive table
