A lesson we all could learn |
| Enemy to a Friend The desert sun burns brightly Upon the glowing sand My horse and I trudge onward Searching for grassy land Suddenly I fall, Landing hard on the ground But my horse runs forward Nowhere to be found I have no water or nourishment No clothes to shield the sun I lay my head down slowly, But then just when I think I’m done I see a long silken robe And under that formidable hood I see eyes that are very familiar But are also far from good I look up into those dark, deep eyes Eyes that had hated me so They were the eyes of my sworn enemy The eyes of my well known foe He reached out a hand to help me And this I cannot believe That an enemy can turn to a friend Within your hour of need As I walk toward the valley Where I can eat and drink I lift my head up slowly And begin to think There is no better way I could have been saved from my end But the way of turning An enemy into a friend |
