A Bite Size Poetry Contest Entry. |
| When the status quo becomes too much to bear, And the dreams of yesteryear lose their luster; When counterfeit contentment is all you can muster, And the fabric of your soul is weak with despair; Imitation joy and delusory delight Shroud silent screams and scars that won’t mend. Synthetic sanity becomes your best friend, Holding you close as you cower in the night. ____________________________________________ Written for the Bite Size Poetry Contest Instructions: "Write eight lines, or less (had to clarify it can be less than 8 lines ), of poetry to try and move me. It can be happy or sad or entertaining. I personally like romance, sci-fi, butterflies and roses. And cute animal stuff. I also like twists in stories and on occassion, something more provacative. (Remember keep it 18+ or under. lol) But your poem can be whatever you like. I'm reviewing on creativity, visualization, and originality." |
