The Darkened Forest

I am not sure why I like this one...

You can lead me through the forest
and disperse amongst the wood
to defend yourself behind the trees
leaving all misunderstood

There is a thought but can you bear
this strength that rests in me
and your guidance isn't necessary
my power you can't see

All in darkness you may fear
may bring the light that you do need
but this fear consumes your heart
never to be freed

So I walk away from you
And leave to follow as you might
I continue through the forest
In search of a new light
