Even though you’re gone and I’m still here,
there is a remote place deep within my heart that still holds you close.
My devastated soul aches with longing for how we once were but no longer are.
I desperately cling to the memories that you left behind. As if they were all I have left to survive.
Anything and everything I see brings a pain to my chest. For they taunt me with remembrance of things that we once treasured.
Even though you’re gone and I’m still here.
