Sonnet about Marine Creek Lake |
| Sonnet To The Lake The Hornwart and the Curly Waterweed Lend shelter to the hatchling Perch and Rudd. While up above, the Rushes and the Reeds Hide Bitterns on their platforms in the mud. Beneath my feet, the rocks at water's edge Lie shrouded in a green and glowng fur, While all around, the Locusts voice a pledge With which the Toads and Damselflies concur. The Cockles and Tellinas have abandoned Their albinistic shells along the shore, While Warblers have watched and reprimanded Those wasteful wretches littering the floor. In this lacustral place I've found a rest From paltry problems Peers may long obsess. |
